In 1972 Hoppe Tree Service was born. 2 brothers (Michael and Dean) and their father Fred started the company. The small fledging company didn’t have much more than a pickup truck, but made up for that with hard work, determination, and a knack for tree climbing. Hoppe Tree Service specialized in tree pruning and removal services.

As you can well imagine, tree work was different 40 years ago. Concrete was still used on a regular basis to fill trunk cavities. Matter of fact, sometimes when we encounter concrete in tree removal projects now a days, we often wonder if grandpa Fred might have been the one to put the concrete there years ago. 40 years ago, pruning paint was commonly applied to every fresh cut, with the thought that the paint would keep insects and diseases out.
The industry of tree care, and particularly our company has changed greatly in the last 40 years. Our first chipper was purchased in 1986 and was able to take up to 4" diam. pieces. The BC1500 chipper that we most recently purchased in 2009 can accept up to 15" diam. piece of wood. When HTS first started, the only way to get in the tree was to climb it using natural fiber ropes, now our company can utilize a bucket truck, minlift, or advanced tree climbing techniques where we are constantly tied in, even before we leave the ground.
Over the years, Hoppe Tree Service has certainly trimmed a lot of trees. Many times we have gone back to work on the same property for multiple owners. It certainly is interesting to talk to a new property owner about the trees and tasks performed on their trees long before they owned the property.
With our experience gained over the last 40 years, our company has grown from a company that provided strictly tree pruning and removal services, to a complete tree care company that can offer the latest in insect and disease control, consultations, stump grinding, planting, and anything else you can think of with trees.
Many other tree care companies have come and gone over the last 40 years. Hoppe Tree Service takes pride in our past and our longevity and we are excited about continuing thru the future. There are many more trees that still need trimming.
Thank you to all of our wonderful clients over the years who have put their trust in us.
