Hoppe Tree Service Employee Spot Lite
Its been a busy year at Hoppe Tree Service. Our company has increased our staffing to accomodate the influx of work this season. It is important that when we add a new employee that we bring in some one who has qualities that fit in with our culture here at Hoppe Tree Service. Our latest addition is a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP), John Wayne Farber. We believe John Wayne (Duke) will make a spectacular addition to the team.
Upon meeting John Wayne some things immediately set him apart from the rest of the pack. He started his college career at the University of Wisconsin- Baraboo/Sauk where he obtained an Associates of Science Degree. Immediately following UW-Baraboo he transferred to UWSP to pursue a field in natural resources. While at UWSP he quickly assumed a leadership role by becoming active in several national leadership and honor societies (ODK, XSP) and student groups (SAF, SSA). His love for the forest, trees, and all things natural led John Wayne to hone his studies to the specific disciplines of forest management, urban forestry, and soil science. A few brief highlights of his time include, developing a kids climb opportunity for children during the homecoming festivities, developing and coordinating the first Midwest intercollegiate climbing competition, and countless activities while president of the student society of arboriculture. He is the recipient of the prestigious chancellors leadership award, and graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. of Forest Management and Urban forestry with a minor in Soil Science.
John Wayne joined the Hoppe team in the summer of ’08 as an intern with our crew in the North. He was a good fit, quickly learning our equipment and absorbing knowledge from co-workers. The next summer (’09) he interned with us again, this time with the south crew. With the knowledge developed in school and the experience from the prior summer he was able to successfully hit the ground running. When John Wayne graduated this May, he applied for a full time position with us. Since hiring him, he has assumed the crew leader position for the south crew, obtained a pesticide applicators license, and successfully passed his certified arborist exam.
We are glad John Wayne has joined the team and welcome him to the Hoppe family.
